For you people that posted the last few threads maybe you haven't heard but Ullirch skipped tThanksgiving and Christamas and went to South Africa to train all winter. I think this years Tour will be one of the best and we will have three main competitors but we still all know who will win. That little guy from the small state of Texas named Lance Armstrong. I guess you just don't see it in his eyes. If he wants this tour bad enough Ullrich and Simoni will be no threat. Hell. I'd like a few more moments like the "look". If all three work together no one else will even stand a chance of being within 6 minutes of them.

From what I've read he can generate the same wattage as Armstrong but he's like 10 to 15lbs heavier. He was plenty lean last year, he's got to lose muscle to get near LA's power to weight ratio. I don't see that happening.
Tour weight was 8 kilos more.Alex-in-Evanston

I guess JU was lean enough in the beginning of TdF2001 (as you can see from the link/pic and no matter how much flaming is done of his weight)...later last year he said that his best peak has been in the Worlds for a couple of years and that he will turn this peak timing more towards TdF.

Overall LA and JU are quite different riders; Lance is like mad bull...Jan is more stylish rider. There may have been some training season weight issues w JU, but at the prologue start ramp i've never seen bold face JU

I don't think Simoni is nothing new; loud noise from Italy once again...many top riders skip Giro so maglia rosa holder ain't maillot jaune holder automaticly...
