|OK Here are my choices. Which wheelset will make me the fastest and why. I'm not sure if lowest weight or minimal drag or a combination is the most critical.

|If you're talking TT speed, then aero is going to be most important (given a flat course). If it's uphill, then rim weight will be more important. If you're talking crit or road race, it really doesn't matter, because smart placement in the pack and drafting is going to make a difference MAGNITUDES greater than your selection of wheels. For pack races, I go with strong wheels, because, as I've said so many times before, in order to finish first, first you have to finish.|

|Brider gives good advice. |
Lightweight hoops matter on the hills. I dont go by manufacturers weight because I dont care what the hubs weigh.
The Rolfs are nice wheels. They are really quality pieces. For some reason the Rolfs run beautifully. Alot of people love them. Mavic are good too. They are all good wheels.

If you weigh unde 150 or maybe even 160 I would try NIMBLE Fly or Spider wheels. I own a set of Nimble spider and would Highly recommend them. They weigh 1352grams as a wheelset which is about a pound lighter than either of the ones your looking at.You can have tubular or clincher. The 1352grams are clincher. You can get them customized with fewer or more spokes to increase stiffness or less weight. They are less expensive, only $480 with Titanium skewers.Also they have 30% less wheel drag if you opt for the hidden nipples, which i recommend too. Good luck. O yea if you get a pair tell them Jeremy from New England told you about them, so I can get free water bottles.thx

|You can beat the paired spoke tech with some lazy Elites,
or 28-32 spoked wheels.
Drag counts, weight is an issue too - given you ain't got 10lbs to lose !

|so, what about the Am. Classic hubs/rims? esp. the rims. they weigh in at 350 grams. anyone have experience|
|wouldnt trust a 350g clincher Al rim||str8dum1|

|zipp makes all carbo rims just a little lighter than that. you can use alot of carbon at that weight. The Al would be bordering stupid thin for a clincher.
but go ahead with the AC rims and tell us if you pull nipples thru the spoke bed or wear the brake surface thru in a season. We need guinea pigs!
