Does Friel include the hours spent doing weights in the gym in the time?

Yep, it's plainly stated in the book. Include any other cross training time as well.

Well, he does but he doesn't. Sure he states count all training when you add up your annual hours but then when you turn that total into weekly values and proceed to the workout plan pages the weight work has disappeared. I think if you check the FAQ on his website he says to throw in the weight work on your easy days (of course then they aren't easy)in addition to the scheduled hours.

My plan for the prep month is to try and throw in an hour of weight stuff on
M (hour weights),
T (hour s2, hour weights)
Th (hour e2, hour weights),
F (hour easy, hour weights). I am shifting the plan one day so the long ride is on Sat and an almost as long is on Wednes.
