|Hey there all you coaches. Gotta a question for y'all. I am in a weird transition year, with two kids now, one just 6 months old. THat means that ride time is EXTREMELY limited. My longer rides (greater than an hour) are Tuesday Nights and Saturday Mornings. Tuesday nights are also the local hammerfest group rides. If I go to those, I have to drive to get there (less ride time) and I will inevetibly be dropped like a bad habit, but it will force me to get more speed than if I train by myself. THe other option is to train and build endurance on Tuesdays and Suterdays, just doing tempo rides for longer times (distances).

|Here's a suggestion - Bicycling Magazine, July 2001, Page 72. I had the same problem, but my kids are a bit older (17 and 14 YEARS!). The demands for time, however, are just as great, if not greater than with little ones. I described my problem in a short essay, sent it to the mag in contest, and won a personalized training plan, whcih they published along with my picture in this issue. I have been using it and highly recommend it. And despite all the gripes about Bicycling Magazine, the information in this case has been very helpful.
