|Where can I get a safety certified time trial helmet?
These things seeem impossible to find. Does any company still make them?
A few people I know have a nice certified LAS helmet, but the company does not seem to make them any more.
Why do North American Bike shops sell those plastic head fairings? They have to know that they are not legal to use in most, if not all, North American events. Several people at my club time trials are using these helents which are just a plastic fairing, and I do not think they should be allowed to ride with them.

|I applaud you for wanting to use a helmet, I work in a bike store and often have riders who are suprised when I tell them I always use one cos I'm young and they expect us not too. I'm not sure on the regulations in the USA cos I'm from GB but most are exaclty that, head fairings and not designed to prevent injury and have only speed in mind. Try your loacl bike stores. If there worth there salt they will try there best to help.
