Questions from a newbie.Beetle

As my running days come to an end(indefinately), due to unfortunate circumstance(injuries suck), I have some questions as I get closer to racing my bike. I recently purchased a giant OCR 3, my first bike. The only thing I have done to it so far is to add clipless pedals and I have added an aero bar. I have two questions. Is this a decent bike to get started into the sport of cycling, and what kind of modifications can I make, in addition to light weight wheels, to make the bike lighter. I appreciate all the feedback anyone can provide.

Heres some advice. Insetead of thinking what to add next train. go out and ride the hardest hill you can find, ride longer than you think you can just don't be that stupid, being a little stupid is what make this sport so much fun. don't worry about wht your starting out on. i started out on a bike the costed about as much as you seat and it was 3 inches shorter than what I needed.
