|Friel says 300-500 yearly hours. |
Weekly hours vary by season period. Could possibly be doing 18 hours in winter, piling in base miles, but only 13 or 14 during the year. And still yet, someone could be in a peak weak, and only do 10 hours.

|I'm doing 9-11 hours per week and doing quite well (I'm a NYC area Cat 4). Needless to say, I'm striving quite hard for quality training during this time. I work a 40-50 HPW job, and have almost 2 hours of commuting time each day. |
I consider the keys to this fitness to be 1) consistency and 2) quality time and 3) recovery is to be taken seriously. do not doubt its value.
and I'm riding _far_ better than I did 13 years ago when I trained 15-20 hours per week (when I was 19).
