|this is my first year racing, and i trying to improve my sprinting..
i end up feeling more comfortable and in control when sprinting in the hoods....but i have a feeling people are going to tell me to get in the drops..
what is the reason for this?

|? maybe not, everybody does it this way though. I think it's mostly because you get lower and can really pull up and hold the bars stronger and better in the drops. Plus, you can get your head down and lunge at the line. Also gives you a strong elbowing position to stop any unwanted competition in the sprint.|

|Brake levers are bolted on with one bolt. If you're really torquing the bike you running a greater chance of ripping off the lever than the handlebars. You can also generate greater torque from the drops.
