Cat 3/4 vs 4/5burnan

I'm a Cat 4 rider. There is a race coming up that has Cat's 3/4 and 4/5. The 4/5 is filled. What's the jump from 4/5 to 3/4 like? Does the field typically split? Any help would be great.

Definately do the 3/4 race. Couple of things - you'll find the cornering smoother (3's tend to brake much less going into the corners, instead we like to carry our speed through... though sometimes people still brake if the course is technical). You'll probably find the rhythm of the race much smoother due to less brakes and smoother acceleration out of the turns.

Also, there will be WAY LESS crashes if the course is one of those nasty ones.

Most likely, unless there is some serious climbing involved, the pack will not split.

and there will be a huge pile up in the final corner, cuz 3's like to all go through the last turn together, but there isn't enough room. =)
