it was my first race ever today..ive been waiting forever for the season to change and then the new bike to come and then the knee to heal and it all boiled down to today at penn state...i told myself id be cool about it, i started at the very back of the 45 or so, and i was just going to feel it out...make my move after...it started and within one lap (5 miles) i had gone from the very back to the very front for my 15 seconds of glory with everyone else behind me, and then the adrenaline that got me there died and then there was a big hill and it was like a fast moving train going past me on both sides...i didnt even bother to try to stick to the pack it was so bad...i kept going, thought about packing it in but got my wind back and my body recovered and kept going....regrouped with 5 others and made ok time compared to the pack ( a friend timed us)....im realllly syched for next week...i have two questions..they pulled us off with a lap to go but we really werent slow enought to be a bother, is that common...and what places do i need to get points to get to the next level, im still wondering how long its going to be before i go pro

Typically they will pull you if it looks like you will be lapped, which is a danger to all riders, or if they are running a tight schedule and need to get the next race started.

I assume your last question is a joke. The short answer... a long time.
