|this is my first year racing road, and with the great weather we have been having up in the Northeast..im sure that i will have to do at least one race in the rain...however..im pretty nervous about this.
any input on how to handle the bike, pack, etc with slick roads?
maybe i just get a little too scared..but i always feel like i am teetering on the edge of going down...actually, i always felt this way on a motorcycle in the rain as well...
any help? thanks

|don't wimp out when it gets wet, get out there and learn how to handle your bike in all conditions. Good way to do this is ride cyclo-cross too.|

|Riding off road in the off season when it's slick will help your bike control skills. Cyclocross. MTB. Hell, even motocross.|

|I made a rule with myself, that if on race day it was raining, especially if it was a crit, I wouldn't race. I would much rather give up the entry fee to save a mangled bike and treat road rash for weeks. It just isn't worth it. I don't make my living riding a bike.
Everytime I sat out the race and watched guys from my race hydroplane and slide out into corner hay bails, I never regreted my decision. There is always a next time.
