Too expensive and doesn't do the state much good in the long run. What does this say about the state of the Primary system? Could there be a better way to do it?

|a nationwide primary. The very idea gives me the willies. And I don't believe it would serve the country well. But it's one small-d 'democratic' reform that well-meaning but very misguided people tout.
Me, I say screw the primaries. Let the (party) bosses go in a back room, with cigars, and PICK someone, like the old days. Honestly -- no kidding now -- we'd end up with better candidates.
Presidential primaries is one 'progressive' reform of the 20th century I think we'd be better off discarding.

|The anti-tobacco people who seem to dominate your party would never stand for it.
Maybe if you gave them all joints they'd say it was OK, though.
Other than that, I think you're right. Errrr, I mean correct.
