Global Minimum Wage. Possible?(3 posts)

Global Minimum Wage. Possible?Free2Pedal

What are your thoughts about creating a global minimum wage? Would it be enforcable? If the US pushes this, will it confirm the worlds image of America as a bully? Would it make more sense to enforce a minimum wage just for American corporations? Is it possible to force American based companies to pay ALL of their employees a certain standard of pay regardless of where the subsidiary and its employees live and work?

I think Gephardt seems much like Bush. If Bush had the ability to listen to others and didn't need to be 100% right all of the time, then I think he would have made a much better president. I see the same inflexibility in Gephardt. He spends so much time telling us how everyone else is wrong, it makes me nervous.
Possible? Yes. Probable? NAH!!!! (nm)ColnagoFE

It will never happen unless, some time in the future, there is a world government. Within the near future, there will be an European minimum wage.

We haven't heard much from you lately. How is life treating you ? Have you landed another gig yet?

Gephart seems like an "old time" democrat. He's more of a party man, so he might be able to get more things done than a Clark or a Dean. In order to win, any one of them will have to spout the same old lines. Dean has the problem of saying what he thinks, once in a while. That can be dangerous. Clark holds back a little.
The rest of them say the same old things.
