Invade Sudan now!!!!!ColnagoFE

Seems as much if not more reason to invade Sudan as Iraq using human rights abuses as a rationale. Why won't the US do it? Probably because it would likely be another Vietnam.
Did their ruler invade another country like Kuwait?No_sprint

Make a deal with the UN as punishment? Thwart it for years? Do multiple administrations believe they have massive weapons? Are there 75 countries lining up and 76% of the American population in support of doing so?

Seems much different to me, however, if you're still in support of invading Sudan, start your lobbying!
rumor has it AlQueda trains thereColnagoFE

That coupled with the documented human rights abuses on their own citizens should be enough. I'm guessing 76% of the American population doesn't even know about the abuses going on in Africa. If Fox news covered it as much as they do the Mideastern situation it would be common knowledge. I doubt they have WMD, but that didn't stop the Bush administration from invading Iraq. They can just say they think they have them and that should convince enough people.
If it's enough for you, like I said, get to workNo_sprint

for me, they'd have to try to take over another country, continue their own abuses amongst themselves, get turned back from invading another country, be punished by the UN and the world, thwart their agreement for 10 years, etc...

that's just me, it appears your threshold is far lower for invading another country, which is fine, doesn't make either one of us inarguably correct.
China qualifies.......NMTri_Rich

75 countries ready to war with them? 76% of our pop? you sure?No_sprint

I don't think so.
Absolutely...Tri_Rich

If the US threatens Fiji with sanctions they will back anything. If you ask the question correctly you could 75% of our population to back anything.
Well, then get to work! nmNo_sprint

I didn't say the US should invade, you did NMTri_Rich

No I didn't. I think the only thing I've ever seen in thisNo_sprint

country that ever had 76% support was this situation. I'd be curious what else you have information on that garners that much support, well, other than lowering taxes.
after you show me proof of the 76%, please show me theNo_sprint

proof of the 75 countries ready to war against them. Then, I'll say ok, I won't stop you from going to work to make it happen. I'm sure plenty of others will though, old, cory, gtx, rufus, hardbottom, etc.

There are too many other factors, whether you can see them or not. To compare China to Iraq is so ridiculous I can't even believe you have so little understanding as to do so. Sudan is the same thing.
What did Iraq do which China hasn't....Tri_Rich

Kill own citizens? No, China did that too
Defy UN resolutions? No, China did also
Invade other country? No, China did this too
Train people to kill US citizens? No
Develop WMD? China actually did this, Iraq maybe not.
Sounds like you've convinced yourself. nmNo_sprint

in the reason he gave for war in Iraq.
No, you haven't done that either. nmNo_sprint

Bear with me this requires logic...Tri_Rich

China meets all the criteria and was not invaded, ergo there are additional criteria.
First you're talking about Bush being less than truthfulNo_sprint
Jan 15, 2004 1:39 PM
now you're talking about criteria? You're all over the map.

If you're convinced they meet your own criteria to be invaded, I say go for it!

Don't try to convince me though!
You haven't come up with the 75 countries or the 76% yet. nmNo_sprint

The number of people who believe logic and reason have a functional role in a political conversation with NoSprint grows smaller and smaller by the day. Soon the ignore function will become our white flag.

According to Amnisty International:

"The death penalty is the ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment

It violates the right to life

It is irrevocable and can be inflicted on the innocent. It has never been shown to deter crime more effectively than other punishments"

Since Texas is the lead in the US in Capital Punishment, they clearly are on the cutting edge of Human rights violations.

So When do the Tanks get to Fort Worth?
