no the owner of this boat.......

This area is too political so I thought I would start the Friday Idiot Award.... only current events and pictures apply.
I'm guessing that's a sand bar. Could even be intentional128

but probably exreme idiot surfing. I'll tell you what they're saying: "sh!t. Let's keep this between just us. Okay?". Could happen to anyone. Sometimes to check the hull you can set a boat on a sand bar as the tide lowers than float off when it comes up again....No expert, but for the sake of argument.

ANYway. My favorite thing about Survivor: That b!tchin' boat they buzz around in. Any nautical types know what kind it is? Pretty sure it's not a Boston Whaler (no 'double' hull- I must get a Whaler). Love that Bimini top and giant, what Mercury 70's on that puppy? Oo la. Sweet, sweet boat.

Haven't watched it a few seasons, but I think they used to use a Zodiac. Bascially it has a rigged hull with inflatable sides.
I think I'd recognize a Zodiac. This is a center console rig128

I'm not much of a boater, but that looks like a solvable problem. Tide comes in and you're off. Foolish maybe, but there are bigger idiots than that.

What I find interesting is that there's a guy behind the boat trying to get attention, probably because he's drowning or has been attacked by a shark, and the guy on the front of the boat is clueless. I imagine the conversation went like this:

"HELP!! HELP!! (glug glug) HELP!!"
"Where are you?"
"RIGHT HERE YOU IDIOT!!! I'M HERE!! SHARK!! SHARK!!"
"Where? I don't see you."
"(crunch) AHHHHHHHHHHH! (splash) OH GOD THE PAIN!"
"I still don't see you"
"BEHIND THE (crunch) AHHHHHHHHH!!! (blurb, blurb, glub)"
"Alright then, mimosa anyone?"

might have been sinking.Turtleherder

If you look at the picture the boat is sitting very low at the stern. It may have been an intentional grounding on the beach to keep it from sinking. Could also be that it had a mechanical problem and then the surf put it on the beach and now it is full of water because of the waves breaking over the transom. Could be that the pilot was a moron and ran to close to shore and now is stuck on the beach by the surf. A lot of plausible explanations but never discount the moron factor.

he was running at low tide and did not look at the charts that show a pipeline that was actually visable on this day. He was not monotoring channel #16 so could not hear the lifegaurds warn him (they actually saw this incident about to happen and tried to prevent it).

So he hits the pipeline, water begins to come through the hole in the hull so he heads for the beach to ground the boat, then the waves swamp the boat. All in all a moronic day for him. Good deductions there Turtleherder... (what does that mean?)
Comes with watching morons.Turtleherder

I grew up, and still live, along the Mississippi River and have seen all manner of almost indescribable stupidity commited in and around boats.
