Incredible front page news from Gephardt!(30 posts)

Incredible front page news from Gephardt!No_sprint
Dec 4, 2003 8:57 AM
He tells grocery strikers to "hang in there".

Well, I guess when the unions, tree huggers and name callers are all that's left, you better hang on.

Grocery workers currently make no monthly contribution to their healthcare whatsoever. Almost every other working person does.
Does this have, like, a point or something? (nm)Cory

It's on the front page of MSNBC, it must to them. nmNo_sprint

Did you try to think of a reason?dr hoo
Dec 4, 2003 9:30 AM
Or are you even able to THINK of a reason why something a LABOR candidate says about a LABOR issue would be newsworthy?

Try.... think.

It took me about 2 seconds.

Are you trying? Or just looking for something to "bash"?

Ok, here you go: Gephardt is a traditional supporter of labor, and labor has traditionally supported its supporters back strongly. But that labor is the manufacturing base labor, a decreasing percentage of all labor.

Dean has made some inroads with service labor (like grocery store workers are).

Bush recinds the steel tariffs, pissing off traditional labor.

Gephardt's base is secure.

Gephardt is now making a move for service labor.

How's that for a reason? That came to me after a few seconds of thought. I have not even looked at the story yet.

I find it interesting, but not earthshaking.

In fact, I just looked at the msnbc page. Internet "front pages" are very dynamic. In fact, I don't even see the story on the msnbc front page NOW! Please provide a link.
No. Not interested. I'm sure you and olded couldNo_sprint

Most of that Gephardt-labor dynamic analysis I got from a conservative publication. Know thy enemy.

And know what thy enemy knows of thee!

OldEd is a pragmatist. I like pragmatists.
Pragmatist? Now that is really a good one! LOL nmNo_sprint

You post a quote, and claim a source that cannot be found. THEN you say you are not interested! If it was important enough to post a topic on, it should be important enough to back up, right?

Or are you just full of steam? I bet you have dreams like that. Full of steam. Steam coming out your mouth and such.

Produce the link. Dredge the file up from your browser cache. Prove you are not a liar.

Or is that something you are not "interested" in either?
Even funnier!No_sprint

to you boy. I don't need to back up anything. I didn't publish the fool on the internet, MSNBC did, I just read it.

Google it up smart guy.

I told you it's on the MSNBC site. Front page for me. Can you search the site? It won't be in the "worldwide" news section of course. It's a regional interest story of course, maybe not even that, it is Gephardt for goodness sake. I thought it was a new go at comedy by MSNBC.

If you're incapable, here ya go.

No, seriously. I have not laughed so hard in a LONG time. Thanks!

Look at the URL. You used the news link under LOCAL WEATHER. It is a LOCAL LA station. It made the front page LOCALLY! Can you think of a reason why THAT news made the front page in LA? Pretty obvious isn't it?

Ok, you are not a liar. Just a dope. SoCal. Figures.

whatever dr hooey. you got the link like you asked for.
I'll use small words for you.dr hoo
Dec 4, 2003 3:11 PM
I think you are few watts short of bright, so I'll keep it simple.

The link I asked for proves that the Gephardt story was NOT "front page news" on MSNBC. It was local news. So No_Sprint's original post was in error. That's why I laughed.

No_Sprint made a mistake that was dopey. (Plus I got to make the socal/dope link, dude). But I called him a liar, which he wasn't. He just switched context on some information for a bit. So I laughed about my own mistake as well. I don't think he is a dope.

You, on the other hand, sure come off like one on the internet.

Maybe that is not fair, maybe it is your fawning over No_Sprint's every post that clouds your judgement? Are you just trying to be a good Beta dog?
thanks dr hooeybill105

Their really making their voice heard locally because large-scale retailers like WalMart are expanding their stores to include food and beverage sales, cutting in on union grociers.
