I'm looking out my south-Denver office window right now and see an increasing amount of smoke rising from your area.

You all doing OK?

It looks like this:

It would be a shame to have Lefthand canyon burn to the ground, but I don't have a lot of sympathy for the people who built their houses there. They know the risk. Because of Boulder's layout though, a fire won't cause a lot of property damage.

... I tend to lack sympathy for those who build their house in high risk areas and/or don't mitigate the risk on their property.

Sounds cold, but this urban-wildland interface has to be reassessed.

That's the liberal in me ... i don't agree with building anything anywhere just because you can a) afford it and b) make money in providing it.

fire is in jamestown area now. they evacuated the town. the big concern for boulder is that there are heavy winds (80MPH gusts in Nederland) and it's really dry. wind direction is pretty much pointed at boulder.

We moved to Superior about a month ago. So far we like it, close enough to Boulder to smell it but far enough to not step in it... Hope you and A. are doing well. Cyclo-cross season is here, is there any way you could send me my tapes (97 TDF and 96-97 'cross World's) via mail? Let me know buddy.

... just meet and I can give them to you? There's always a reason to go to Boulder.

Still have my number and/or email?

I'd be heartsick if Jamestown burned. Not just for those that lose homes, but also because the Jamestown Merc is one of my fave post-Left Hand breakfast joints.
