|MONROE, N.C. --A man released from prison where he had served a robbery sentence was back in custody just nine hours later after being arrested for a similar crime.
Maurice Lamont Little, 24, of Indian Trail, was charged with robbery Wednesday. Police said a man dressed in prison-issue clothing walked into a store in Monroe, stuck a toilet brush into the clerk's back and walked out with a cash drawer.
The robbery occurred at 7:35 p.m. Little had been released from Columbus County Correctional Institute at 10:30 a.m. after serving a seven-month sentence for a previous Union County robbery.
