Manny's a dope, FOX! still bites, Red Sox win...128

Pedro should not have been pointing to his head like that.. Whatever he meant, it could be interpreted as "I'm gonna bean you."

Does Zimmer remember he's 72! Holy hanna. Why does he charge Pedro all of a sudden? Never seen him get so emotional when Roger "the angel" Clemens reaches into his bag of intimidation. I immediatley thought "Pedro's career is over" Maybe he'll survive?? With antics like that maybe he should move to the Bronx.

Ramirez swallowed Clemens' bait (high, but no way inside), hook line and sinker. "Let me tell you something, I was afraid"

Listened to FOX for the Cub's game. I do like Leiter's experienced pitcher insight but he is rather argumentative. But really, FOX! is reaping the rewards of a great post-season with really really poor coloring book commentators.

Dear Nomar and offense. Please come back. You've been away too long.

Best of three gentlemen. Go Sox.

What a bunch of punks, throwing at each other. They can all take each other out as far as I'm concerned.

The thing to keep in mind about Zimmer is that his playing career ended many years ago when he was hit by a beanball. I think he was even in a coma for a couple of days. So if he gets riled up because some punk ass pitcher wants to "take back the plate," I think it's excusable.
Zimmer has a plate in his head.Turtleherder

Zimmer's playing career ended when he got beaned and was in a coma for 2 weeks. He now has a metal plate in his head as a reminder. Because of his first hand experience with head hunting he lost control and charged the guy. Not a bright move and he offered a tearful apology the next day.

Zimmer doesn't have a plate in his head. He has four tantalum plugs.
That doesn't matter. Nothing Matters...Well, one thing mattersKristin

THE CUBBIES WON AND THEY'RE GO'IN TO THE WORLD SERIES. Now for a more vital question. Will Chicago burn twice?
One more game KristinTJeanloz

Ask the Oakland A's about losing elimination games. The Cubs aren't in the series yet.

Not that I think either of the N.L. teams is capable of beating either of the A.L. teams this year.
What?!?Kristin

That's what I get for having an opinion on a topic I know nothing about. I'm not really a baseball fan, but its hard not to get swept up in the current ferver. Anyway, I thought I heard on the radio this morning that they were in.
People in Chicago just think it's locked upTJeanloz

The series is 3-2, in favor of the Cubs, with two games remaining at home. Odds for the Marlins are not good, but not impossible.

I can't see a scenario where either the Marlins or the Cubs could beat either the Red Sox or the Yankees, unless the team that wins the ALCS has most of its team suspended for a few games...which is possible.
Your team looks great. Go Cubs!128

Cubs win tonight puts them in the finals. One more win for the Cubbies.

Now if Boston can keep up their end we shall see you in the Series and tempt fate. The Big Question of course, is how how would this series end when it has already been determined that it's mathematically impossible for either team to win.
You're never free from surprise till your dead!Kristin

Somewhere in Chicago this morning, a man has called in sick to work and is packing his things. He will wear a ski cap and dark glasses as he fills up at the gas station and drives out of town.
MLB has a fan protection program. He'll need it. So will the128

pitchers. Can't blame that "fan" for all 8 runs can we?

I could feel the dread in Chi-town from here. Condolances.

(Can you call it Chitown, or is that like 'beantown?', no one says it except tourists?)
Pedro did what nobody else couldSpoiler

He got non-Yankee fans rooting for the Yankees. Pedro doesn't yet have the class to put on the pinstripes. Taunt an old man with a plate in his head? Maybe in a couple years the kid will see the light.
Fox commentators do a really poor job. I miss Joe Morgan.
Pedro didn't do anything to ZimmerTJeanloz

Zimmer is the idiot in the whole thing. IMHO he should be suspended for a few games. Pedro didn't say a word to Zimmer - it was Zimmer jawing the whole time at him. And, having been there and heard it, I can tell you with 100% certainty that none of the words were to Zimmer, because they were all in Spanish (directed at Garcia and Posada). Zimmer was the big blowhard who ran 100 feet across the field to find Pedro, who was minding his own business and staying out of the scrum (Pedro is a big wimp, I'll admit that). I also don't remember Zimmer being angry with Clemens three years ago when he beaned Piazza.

And I don't think the Yankees have "class" on their side, considering Roger, Nelson, and Garcia - two of whom may well be arrested for their antics.
