is, anybody but the yankees! Go Boston..and if Boston fails, we will all be behind the Cubs or Marlins...the Evil Empire led by their owner George "Darth" Steinbrenner must be defeated!
Indeed. Politics ends at the gates to Yankee Stadium. nmOldEdScott

and not meant as an insult to you..there is so many little things going on in a baseball game that a casual fan completely misses. Baseball more than any other game is a cerebreal game, discounting stuff like chess of course. Go to a game sometime with a person who truly understands the game and get him/her? to explain it to you.

Then he will think baseball is boring and that those who know the game are freaks.

Those who really understand the game are a strange breed. My father is a Yankee freak. He grew up during the Mantle era in the shadow of Yankee stadium (well OK, NJ). He buys a package of Yankee tickets every year. He not only goes to the games, he "keeps the book" for every game he attends. He's been doing this since before I was born. He has quite a collection of scorebooks. If you mention baseball to him, you had better sit down and get comfortable. You'll be there for a while.

to like baseball...again no insult to anyone that does. You have to like memorizing stats...knowing all the players names. The history. Personally I like using my brain for other equally useless and trivial persuits!

Conservative and a Braves fan since early 80s...with the advent of cable tv and watching a team 150 times a year , a team only 100 miles away at that time, you tend to learn to become a fan. Yes, it did bother me that Hanoi Jane was somewhat connected to the team. Ted is just a child with too much money, Jane knows what she is doing.
