Explain the universe to this guy...rwbadley

In our laundry room I noticed a huge set of legs from out of the floor drain. The drain holes are half inch or so. I moved in for a closer look and tried to coax him out with a side of beef. This is a pretty big spider for our area. I still haven't seen all of him yet.

the Northwest we had these great orb spiders, I used to toss bugs into their webs; those spiders became like pets after a while.

These little guys build a cobweb type nest in the floor areas. I usually just leave them alone, or toss 'em outside if the wife hollers or they're in a bad location.

One time a blood curdling scream issued from the bathroom, I dashed in to find wifey hopping up and down "it's big! IT's BIG!" she pointed at this huge spidey in the tub. It was about three inches across. I scooped him up in towel, carried him outside and tossed him in the yard. I swear you could feel the ground shake when he landed. thud.

We've had crazy big spiders here this year in amazing numbers. My sister in law walked up to our house one night last week. About an hour later, she walked back out and we heard her scream. She almost walked face first into a big-ass spider in the middle of a web about five feet wide by five feet high. The damn thing spun this gigantic web in less than an hour. The Orkin guy says spiders are out in force this year. Like you, I liberate them when possible. My wife has no mercy.

I was on a night mtn bike ride last year, working hard on some uphill technical singletrack, when my buddy (who was right behind me) yells "stop". I did, looked up, and saw the source of his consternation: a 3" spider right in the middle of a picture-perfect web that spanned the trail. As we stood in admiration, a big moth flew right in front of my face, I grabbed it and tossed it into the web. For a big guy, that spider moved pretty fast.
