Forgive me for being late with this, but the new job and house have me a bit side-tracked of late.

I just looked at the line-up for the three nights this weekend, and I was quite pleased indeed.

Of course there are the usual assortment of psuedo-pop-alt/indie bands like 311, the B-52, REM (who hasn't been worth a hoot since "Life's Rich Pageant" IMHO), etc.

While I was disappointed to see that neither The Blasters nor the Rugburns were playing, I was happy to see SoCal favs like X, Concrete Blonde, and the Reverand Horton Heat and the Dropkick Murphies. Still, what currently has my skivvies in a wad is the one, the only, the minister himself--Mojo Nixon and the Toadliquors. "Winnebago Warrior" and "Are You Drinkin' With Me Jesus"....

Is anyone else going? Mickey-Mac? Czar--a roadtrip from NorCal perhaps? Anyone?

I love them! I didn't know they were still around. How much of the group is intact from 15 yrs ago? Are they still recording, and how do they sound?
From an East Coast fan.

I think it's the orig. lineup, but I don't know if they're still recording. Last time I saw them (5 years ago, maybe) they were great.

but it's opening weekend for kids' soccer on Friday and Saturday and we have a we have a wedding to attend Saturday evening. I checked the web site: In addition to the bands you mentioned, some pretty good non-vintage bands are playing, including Cafe Tacuba. Plus it's usually pretty fun to catch a Jason Bentley DJ set. Maybe next year.
Sorry, I'm afraid I don't do SoCal. (nm)czardonic

. . .but I'm not much of a traveler, and having lived in Santa Monica for 3 years, I feel like I have "been there, done that".

Personally, I think NorCal is delightful.

In any case, it looks like the Mark 1 Mod 0 Wife-spousal-unit has a two room painting project and a garage reorg project on tap, commencing this evening. Oh well.....
