|This morning I heard that a New York Law firm has filed a suit against First Energy of Ohio seeking compensatory and punitive damages for the recent blackout in the northeast.
It would seem to me that this is premature as the cause is still unkown. Additionally I (not a lawyer) would think that a blackout was some sort of an assumed risk in using electricity. Hospitals and air traffic control have automatic back up systems so they obviously assume that the power will not be continuous.
Does this case have merit?
