|Well, as Barbara Tuchman said, "as a distant mirror":
In a time of economic upheaval and terrorist acts against the state, a plurality of people turn to a transplanted Austrian artist who keeps talking about the need for 'leadership'. The conservative industrialists think they can control him, but he has his own agenda...
Whaddya think? Might make a good movie, but who could play the lead?
As far as the (Total?) Recall, I'm leaning toward the Incredible Hulk. He's more articulate than Arnold, more animated than Gray Davis, and I've always wanted to vote green.
After South Carolina voted to secede, Unionist James L. Petigru observed "South Carolina is too small to be a country, and too large for an insane asylum." Unfortunately, California could be a country. I'm sure a lot of people in the rest of the country would be happy to see it go.
After giving us the car alarm and the recall election, Darrell Issa now says he wants further enrich our lives by working for peace in the Middle East.

|Yes, it's a reference to Hitler and no, I don't think Arnold's a Nazi. But I DO think that people will turn to strange ducks in times of turmoil. Whatever happened to Ross Perot?|| |
