our troops in iraq and afghanistan face the prospect of having their pay for "being in imminent danger zones" cut back unless congress acts quickly. the defense department supports the cuts, saying their budget can't handle the increase.

funny, i don't see wolfie, rummy, perle and the rest of the neo-cons offering up their pay. nor do i see bush, cheney or the congress doing so either. but they "support our troops".
sounds reasonable to me.Spoiler

The level of imminent danger that wolfie, rummy, pearl and Bush has not changed, so their pay shouldn't change.

Now that the troops and everyone else knows the truth about WMD, their level of imminent danger has changed. Instead of worrying about entire platoons being wiped out, they only have to worry about taking pot-shots on an individual basis.

But I can also see why they aren't going to like it.
