Purple Level Ozone day?(33 posts)

Purple Level Ozone day?Dave Hickey
Aug 8, 2003 8:20 AM
I always thought red was the highest ozone day. On the news this am, the weather man said we're going from red to purple today in Dallas. He said it was the first time Dallas has gone to purple. He also said purple was the second highest level. What's the highest level?

By the way, the air quality index and ozone in Houston seem to be ok, it's just the heat that is killing everyone...I don't know about you, but I'm starting my ride tomorrow at 0-dark-hundred.

As I understand it, Free originally did say fkn rent (and may have been on some issues) but were told to change by record label, the choose some nonsense/garbled sound-alike "prkn rate"??? dunno

Great prkn music on that album though..
LOL, Makes sense, I never did understand "parking rent"...Dave Hickey

Same deal on that Miller tune, the original does say sht goin down, told to change, and some Floyd song too, ummm. 2 versions exist. The 'cool' fm stations, like RBR, still allow the swear word version.
Saw an interview with Elton....Dave Hickey

Back in late 70's, he was cutting two albums/yr. The interviewer asked if it took a lot of time to write the songs. Elton said he and Taupin would write a whole album's lyrics in 2 hours.

No comment on the quality of his music:-)

Ten or fifteen years of hearing the wrong thing, finally, I'm free. I've been locked up in my apartment, afraid to set foot in karoke bars for fear of humiliating myself at the mic. I knew damn well that couldn't be the lyrics, but my brain couldn't come up with anything sensible.
Now, what does "cut loose like a deuce" mean?
I can see in poker you might discard deuces, setting them free.

stupid stuff like that :O) A deuce is also a craps term. So it may have something to do with rolling the dice. I always thought he said "cut loose like a deuce, another roller of the dice." Seems to make better sense than "another runner in the night", but hey he wrote it so who am I to criticize :O)
Aug 8, 2003 2:23 PM
I think he means deuce as in deuce coupe, aka "she's my little deuce coupe".

Or maybe a big ole Buick Electra 225 aka "deuce and a quarter."

That sounds good to meLive Steam

There are a lot of references to cars in Bruce's songs. "I got a sixty-nine Chevy with a 396, Fuelie heads and a Hurst on the floor...." :O)
