Why won't GWB budget for the non-war in Iraq?PdxMark

The $369 billion defense spending bill passed in the Republican controlled House includes NOTHING for the non-war in Iraq. DOD says it costs $4B/month to be in Iraq, and Tommy Franks says we'll be there 2-4 years. Of course, these are probably lying panty wastes. We know the rationale for the war was baseless, but GWB's lying now extends to his accounting for the war.
Because he is a dishonest and inept political dilettante? (nm)czardonic

are two different things. Just about every politician lies about budgets. Not every Prez. lies about the reasons to go to war. Even that isn't at 100% yet. At this time, George is at the 75% level on the lie-o-meter. All it will take to save him is to find one shell with live germ agents. Then he can claim that he saved the USA.
His apologists are banking on willfull ignorance.czardonic

That is, he was not aware he was parroting easily debunked and widely known forgeries. He didn't ask, the CIA didn't tell.
GWB has budgeted $0 for US military...PdxMark

Fudging a billion or two here or there is good old fashioned American politics. Puposely ignoring a shortfall of 13% in a $369 billion defense budget is an outright lie that must be made to pretend that the deficit will run to only $400 billion.

Wow, as I write this, I see the GWB's lying, coupled with his idiotic tax cuts, essentially leave the entire US military budget off the books... a $400 billion deficit about equals the $369 billion defense budget + $48 billion for the Iraq non-war. Wow... let's here the strident supporters of this Bush fiscal lunacy...
