Paging Mickey-Mac...The Walrus

You might wanna check this out if you read this in time--there's a "beach festival" this Sunday at the Autry Museum from 12-7, which is gonna feature a bunch of surf bands including some incarnation of the Surfaris, plus Dick Dale and the Deltones. Surf music--the only thing better than punk!
Thanks for the tipmickey-mac

One of the exhibits recently at the museum has been on Southern California "beach culture." I hadn't heard about the surf music show but am going to take a wild guess that it's related to the beach culture exhibit. I saw Dick Dale years ago, and he did a fun show. I might have to pack up the kids and head over to the show.
Man, you were right about Dick Dale...The Walrus

...the guy does an amazing show, although there's something almost unholy about someone who's got at least 15 years on me playing music that loud. He definitely still has his chops, and his 11-yr-old son, who did 5 acoustic duets with him, is no slouch either. He also seems to really appreciate the audience--he's about as far from being a prima donna as you could get. The Surfaris were great, too, and Agent Orange would've killed if the engineer had gotten the mix straightened out.
