English? Is there something in England you can't do until you're 21? I understand why its a big deal here, but why there? Or, do they make a big deal out of his birthday every year?

On the other hand, it only occurs once in history. It's never happened before, and it will never happen again, so by golly, let's celebrate it. Everybody gets the day off. Birthday cake and tequila shots for all my friends!

99.99% of the population couldn't give a *&£$ about it. The remaining .01% are little old ladies who keep usless indrustries going by collecting stupid tea-towels and commerative china plates and thimbals and the like.

The Royal Family exist purely to seperate stupid American tourists from their cash with "Celebration shortbread fingers from the Old Course at StAnderws" souvineers, and to keep Kodak in the black by causing 5.8m Chinese yearly to have rolls of film developed at the 1 hour kiosk on the corner of the Mall.

That's the way it is.
