A France-Syria-Iraq "Axis"??Jon Billheimer

I don't know whether these guys are blowing smoke or what, but today's Debkafile alleges that France has accepted members of the Hussein regime from Syria. They also allege a lot more about Syria's complicity with Iraq and purported U.S. special ops military activity within Syria. Has any of this been corroborated by any other news services? Or is this simply right wing Israeli-American alarmism? How on earth would it be in France's national interests to harbour fugitive members of the Hussein regime? (Please, no hate-France flames here. I'm just seeking information.)
Wouldn't it be a bite if the Cheney AdministrationOldEdScott

attacked France, say around July 7th or so? You think Bush is good enough friends with Lance, and influential enough with Cheney, that he could delay military action until the Tour is over?

Attack France? Don't they throw up the white flag faster than the first cruise missle could hit them from the UK? Or are they particularly fond of Germans?

Of course, an occupying force has to feed the country, and they'd all die of starvation before settling for McDonalds and Pizza Hut.

yeah, Debka was mumbling about this last week, too, and I posted on this forum to see if anyone else had heard/seen anything about this elsewhere. So far I haven't seen it corroborated anywhere else.
