Do I detect a bit of tension in the room? Arguing about the war getting you down? What better way to brighten our Friday than a sing-along!

How's about we list a few of our favorite war-related songs, both anti- and ..., well not exactly pro-, but patriotic or pro-government. Ya' know, just for chuckles, and a fun trip down memory lane. (I have no motive here except to engage in some goofy, non-confrontational sharing. Also, I hope to help foster a bit of humor and civility that seems lacking of late on this board.)

C'mon y'all, let's sing!

"Let's Have a War!" (Fear)
"War Dance" (XTC)
"Washington Bullets" (The Clash, from Sandanista!)

"The Ballad of the Green Beret" (Sgt. Barry Sandler (sp?)
"Freedom Isn't Free" (Artist unknown. This song is one of those patriotic gut-busters we sang in junior high choir during 'Nam. I still to this day wake up in a sweat-soaked bed, screaming the lyrics. PTCS= Post-Traumatic Choir Syndrome.)

Y'all have a great weekend!

Well, it's by "War." One of my favorites:

All my friends know the low rider
The low rider is a little higher

Low rider drives a little slower
Low rider is a real goer

Low rider knows every street, yeah
Low rider is the one to meet, yeah

Low rider don't use no gas now
Low rider don't drive too fast

Take a little trip
Take a little trip
Take a little trip and see

Take a little trip
Take a little trip
Take a little trip with me
