There are massive protests up in San Francisco right now, and I am so thankful I don't live or work there and that it is 50 miles north. For the most part it is the usual idiotic tactics of causing the most inconvenience to the most people with the idiotic belief that everyone will come over to your cause.

In Berkeley, some people hung a big sign that said "We Love Saddam." That was unexpected even for Berkeley!

But this is too much.

I just heard on the radio (KGO 810 in San Francisco) that some protesters at the Federal Building are staging a "vomit in" or "puke for peace." They have dumped gallons of sour milk on the ground and are literally puking all over the place. I am not making this up! They interviewed a guy who said he and his buddies did some drinking in preparation and are now trying to puke "as hard as they can." Apparently, some workers were slipping in the vomit as they tried to get in the building.

Someone, PLEASE, tell me what purpose this serves? What kind of upbringing did these people have that cause them to do such a disgusting thing? Is there anyone in the protest movement that would agree that vomiting is a good thing? Don't you just want to kick these guy's asses?

I think it hurts the cause of anyone serious enough to have one. Probably many just want attention and were over-indulged as children, so now they can't understand or tolerate it when they aren't given what they want.

Their behavior speaks for itself.

I had a hippy chick teacher in college chastize us for being so uptight. She then went on to explain how they would have group fart ins at her school during the Vietnam war.

This has shaped me as a human being.

In a unique form of opposition, some protesters at the Federal Building Thursday staged a "vomit in,'' by heaving on the sidewalks and plaza areas in the back and front of the building to show that the war in Iraq made them sick, according to a spokesman. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2003/03/21/roundup.DTL
