Car question...Land Rover vs VolvoCARBON110

Anyone have anything they could add about experience of these two vehicles. I have a C70 Volvo and is been perfect to me after 90k. I also had a LR Disco and it was super fical. But, the news look real nice and I was tinkn about checkn them out. I already have ordered a new Volvo but was just curious as to weather anyone here had any experience with the new ones or volvo AWD? Thanks

Disco 3.8 petrol manual. Utterly, totally, completely, awful vehicle. The most appauling build quaility and reliability. Famous for it - read any of the reviews. Had it 2 months - got shot of it - never again. Engine bad, gearbox bad, body leaked, brakes leaked, rusted, bits fell off, seat fell apart, trim fell apart - I'll stop now.

If you have to have one, I'd say get any old one, on the basis of "most of what can and will go wrong with them will have done so by now and someone else will have fixed it at thier expense". Get a pro check it out whatever you do.

On the other hand, just get the volvo and relax. Or a shogun/prajero - bomb proof. Or a Land Crusier. Anything other than the lannie really.
My last volvo had 180,000 miles when i sold it....Alexx

and it still runs strong. Never had the head off. Some guy from Michoacan bought it and will drive it down there next week to give to his brother. Going to Mexico to live on... there's something poetic here that kind of chokes me up when I think about it. maybe I need to take a vacation
I know Land rovers....russw19

Don't buy the Disco! Get a used Range rover instead... the older the better. Get a 94 Country LWB and immediately convert it from the Air Ride system to Coil Overs with Rovertym Springs and Bilsteins. Change the oil every 3,000 miles and swap out the swivel housing oil to the one shot grease packs unless you drive it off road and it's a great truck. But the Disco's aren't worth it unless you get one under warranty and live near the dealer and have another car to drive while they are fixing yours.

That said, I will sell you my 89 Rangie cheap! Gas mileage is absurd with them... unless you do the LPG conversion you will get like 12-15 mpg. I get 12 on a good day.

God bless the combo of that truck and the gas crisis we are having as I ride my bike to school and work now and have lost 15 pounds in the last 2 months.

any Niaan over 7 or 8 years old has enough rust holes to resemble a piece of swiss cheese. By 150,000 miles, every one of them has been junked.
