Heston fires back at ClooneyAlpedhuez55

Found this on NewsMax.com. Looks like Heston responded to Clooneys comment of last week:
---------------------------------
George Clooney has just drawn the ire of Moses.

Apparently, the actor is not content to merely sit around and hurl tired, hackneyed anti-war phrases at the president, like he did while on the Charlie Rose show.

No, Clooney also seems to have the need to kick around an American icon when he's down.

According to the New York Post's Liz Smith, while accepting an award from the National Board of Review, Clooney wisecracked, "Charlton Heston announced again today that he is suffering from Alzheimer's."

When asked about the statement, Clooney told Smith, "I don't care. Charlton Heston is the head of the National Rifle Association. He deserves whatever anyone says about him."

Heston wasn't about to let the indignity go unchallenged. According to the World Entertainment News Network, Heston walloped Clooney by contrasting the actor's demeanor with that of his late aunt, the singing legend Rosemary Clooney.

"It just goes to show that sometimes class does skip a generation," Heston shot back.

It's ironic that Clooney, who liberally spouts compassion, tolerance and sensitivity, would use a man's illness as material for a joke.

The Left Coast Report believes if the guy keeps talking, he'll end up where he belongs; right next to Alec Baldwin on "Hollywood Squares."
------------------------------------

Clooney has the right to make an anti gun statement, but making fun of such a horrible disease was in poor taste. I was actually looking forward to seeing the new movie about Chuck Barris but will most likely wait until it comes on Cable now.

What a jerk. Glad to see "Moses" still has enough on the ball to throw it back in Clooney's face. Heston slammed him with class. I lost a lot of respect for George after that comment.

And yes, I do ride the Clooney highway all the time. Route 10 into Maysville, KY...home of Rosemary Clooney. In fact, I was present when George, his Dad Nick, cousin Miguel Ferrer were presented with the "Clooney Highway" sign by the Vice (?) Governor. Shoulda booed.....Hell, George was stinkin' drunk anyway.

Hey, class may skip a generation, and what Clooney said was somewhat out of line, but don't forget, Heston leads an organization which helps destroy thousands of lives every year due to gun violence. Just cause the guy played Moses doesn't make him a saint.
So to speak, ehvelocity

He's played Moses, John the Baptist, and done a film, humbly called, "Charlton Heston Presents the Bible" (can't wait to rent it, if I I can find it!). Hasn't the man ever heard of turn the other cheek?

Moses, from what I understand, was not a "turn the other cheek" type of guy.

Sounds to me like he handled it in about the classiest way possible.
