|I didn't think that those involved in public safety (firefighters, cops) were allowed to strike.
If they are allowed to strike, it must be a rather large disagreement they are having with their "employers" (local/state/Federal gov't)

|Firemen yes - police, armed forces no.
It's the first strike for 25 years. They money they get is totally risible even for trash jobs, leave alone a dangerous and important one.
I hope they get a big rise - they deserve it.
