Anyone going to any parties this weekend? What will you be?Kristin

I spent three days agonizing over what to wear to three parties. Duh! I have two full draws dedicated to funny looking clothes and shoes and gloves. The party I'm going to tonight is called a "one item only" costume party. For instance, if I go as a horse, I can only be wearing a saddle. (okay, bad example.) I decided to go as Cat5 racer. I'll just wear a pair of shorts and fashion myself a neatly placed tatoo from my chaingring. I know, it should be clean, but it's not. Which works for me in this case.
I always wanted to go as one of those bogmen.Sintesi

You know those mummified remains they pull out of Belgian peat bogs. All you'd have to do is wear a burlap sack, make a little dunce hat, throw a rope around your neck and plaster mud all over your body. Voila! Instant hip factor, life of any party.
Great idea! (nm)DeRanger

going in drag. found a pink business suit, throw in some fishnets, a funky 50s flip wig and those horn rimmed glasses and you've got one ugly looking female.

My wife and I are volunteering tonight at our daughter's Halloween festivities at school. My wife called from the costume shop to find out whether I wanted to be a pirate or a jailbird. Having visions of wearing horizontal black and white stripes and looking like George Clooney in O Brother, Where Art Thou, I went with the jailbird outfit. Unfortunately it turned out to be a sad-looking orange jumpsuit with "JAILBIRD" stenciled on the back. Instead of a ball and chain, it should have come with one of those pointy little picking-up-trash-on-the-side-of-the-road-sticks.

will feature me as a "surgeon" (*yawn*) and my fiance as a saucy cowgirl (no yawn for that!)
I love Halloween. Candy corn! Bobbing for poodles...uhh...I mean apples. (Sorry, Far Side flashback!)
Congrats on the engagement, BTW. (nm)Kristin

Last year's party: I was the pirate captain, my wife was Carmen Miranda. She looked good too...bowl of fruit on the head, tight fitting dress. The funny thing was that one of the other couples that joined us at the party were Jimmy Buffet and...Carmen Miranda. The other Carmen didn't look nearly as good as my wife. Made my wife smile all night long!

This year...alas...only kids' parties - three of 'em!! We have a neighborhood party Halloween night. I'm trying to get up the nerve to show up in a costume I saw in a shop. For a guy: a female skin-tone fat suit, a Dolly Parton wig, thong bikini and pasties. Worn with hiking boots and my shaved legs ??? I would look so bad, it would be good.

NUFC jersey (Go Magpies!) and a (badly simulated) English accent.
