|To summarize the bee in van question....||ClydeTri|

|For all practical purposes, a "closed" van with bees in weighs the same if they are flying or sitting. Theoretically though, a van with flying bees weighs less than the same van with them sitting, but, beyond the ability to measure the difference...and this is totally avoiding the concept of relativistic physics, just sticking to Newtonian physics. We all knew this to begin with, what we just proved is that one must define the problem or question explicitly to get the correct answer, and, there is often more than one correct answer to a question.|
|Now, answer the tomato on the vine question||Starliner|

|If one were to go into the tomato garden and find a tomato growing on a vine, then, without picking it off the vine, proceed to eat the tomato (still attached to the vine), would that person be eating a live tomato or not?|

|The tomato probably has just as many living cells on the vine as after being plucked. So I'd say the tomato is live.
Extending this logic one can argue that it is still live even after one has eaten in but before it has been digested. However, it is not a tomato then.
