|It's that time of the year again! Maybe my Canucks will pick up where they left off last season and start whoppin' some rear end... but we all know they only do that for the first month of the season, then slide into their usual mid-season ditch, only to come out some time in february to work hard again and barely make the playoffs *sigh*. Hasn't that been the story for the last 5 years or so? lol
Who are you all routing for?
And one more thing: how do you feel about Ron Maclean getting his raise? Personally I think he deserved it. Not so much for being a great sports broadcaster, but for putting up with all the crap Don Cherry dishes out! I'm glad his fans (and even big name sponsers like Labatt) got behind Ron on this one.

|I get the NHL package from the dish so I too catch Hockey Night and I couldn't agree with you more. I'm a Bruins fan and a "half-season" ticket holder. It'll be a long season for us for sure. I've gotta say that about 6 years ago I predicted that Bertuzzi would be a great player. Why did it take him so long to flourish?|

|Yea, it's been good the past five or 10 years but before that, you had to have an alternate team to cheer come playofff time. I mean from the mid-sixties to the mid-eighties they didn't call them the Dead Things just to be cruel. Hang in there, your Canucks show promise. Just pray they don't face the Red Wings again. :-) |
They pay Don Cherry $7-million (Canadian), and taxpayers' money at that, for what, 10 minutes' work on a Saturday night? Good work when you can get it.

|Go 'nucks. But ouch they laid one on my sharks this weekend. Canucks are my second favorite. They're not gonna be sneaking up on anyone this year though. Of course my first allegiance to my fantasy hockey team. My draft picks went: Forsberg, Theodore, Kovalev, Alfredsson, Nolan, Lalime.
But for me the nhl is on probation. You've got to admit: it really sucked last few years. nothing but holding in the neutral zone, the trap, and a lot of 2-1 games. Come on, when's the last time no one scored 100pts? So far this year it seems pretty good with the new rules. But once they stop calling obstruction, I'm outta there.
I agree about Maclean. Anyone who has to sit next to cherry and listen to him and look at his pseudo-pimpy disco clothes for a whole year deserves a raise. (no matter what he makes)

|The team is very motivated after last years mess. Bill Gurin, Scott Young, and others are looking to make this a great year. Both my boys are playing. My older son is Midget AA and high school, while my younger son is Peewee AA. This time of year I have to adjust my ride schedule around hockey games and practices.|| |
