|Here's a quote from a friend of mine in an e-mail today that I thought was quite good: "Laughter can be more satisfying than honour; more precious than money; more heart-cleansing than prayer. Laughter is like the human body wagging its tail." Thanks to all on this board who have shared laughs from time to time this year. There's more than enough heavy stuff on the radar most of the time. A good laugher helps keep things in perspective.|

|Why do people laugh at these kinds of things? |
I feel sorry for what happened to the person - but without any background on the story, there is a perverse humor in it.

|The barb wasn't directed at the situation itself, but at the silly argument people got into about it.
Folks, this is nothing compared to a situation I encountered in high school. Back in the 70's, a somewhat normal student decided to share the latest "dead baby joke" with a group after school. Wasn't so funny to the teacher there who just had a miscarriage. That makes our bickering seem pretty stupid in comparison, doesn't it?
