Has anyone else here encountered a moving POPUP? They run from your cursor when you try to click the close box. Could it get any more annoying? Wait...don't answer that. I'm sure their cooking up something new as we speak.

between popups and spam. Both the amount of popups and spam seem to increase each day. It is totally ridiculous. Talk about ruining a good thing...

Now they are adding runaway popups - brother!

(If only there were a sniper program designed to shoot down them onery little critters or how about an ORKIN program designed to weed 'em out....)

The geeks keep coming up with new ways to annoy us. Will it very end?

Can this be defeated by disabling Java altogether?

Doug
Yes. Disable Java, JavaScript/Acitve Scripting. . .czardonic

And browse the net without pop-ups, blind or misleading links and many other annoyances.

Inevitably there will be a few sites that force you to either turn these features back on or take your business elsewhere. In my experience it is rarely a tough choice.

mostly on porn sites...they pop up tons of unwanted windows as soon as you close the window you are looking at. can be embarrasing at work trying to get rid of them.
Almost as embarrasing as telling your online friends...PdxMark

I never said I looked at such sites! I just heard of it happening to a friend of a friend! ;0

Then again I challenge anyone who browses the Internet or gets email to have NEVER seen a porn spam or come across a porn site. I say it's impossible even if only by accident and not intentional.
A lot of the .gov sites have similar .com porn sitesMB1

For instance if you log onto whitehouse.com instead of .gov you are going to get porn. Won't make that mistake twice.
Ugh...the other day I received a message from Amy K. saying that my email account would be deleted.Kristin

Why did I click on it? I don't know any Amy K, but she knew my email name and I thought, "What if she is really from Hotmail?" (Hehe, you'd think I was an email network administrator or something.) Well, there are just some things that I don't need to know about Amy K. However, I know them just the same. My eyes....my eyes...

...at the bottom of your screen and click "Close" or hit Alt+F4. This is just one of the reasons I hope a direct connection interface to the brain is never used!
