|Kentucky Fried Terrorism!?!||jose_Tex_mex|

|When I first saw this picture I kind of laughed and thought someone was bad mouthing KFC again - remember the email claiming they were growing pseudo chickens that never fully matured? Anyhow, that one was bogus. The University that supposedly did the study even mentioned it on there homepage.
This picture is, unfortunately, authentic. Am I missing something here or does KFC allow "terrorist" murals on their buildings?
Does this bother anyone else?

|you should volunteer to paint it white...
I don't think they're the type of folk who go asking
anyways - both communities in NI have murals

|I bet that's your solution to everything in the world - paint it white...
As for murals, I could care less what you want to paint on the side of your house or the road for that matter. However, when an American franchise [apparently] allows terrorists to advertise on their walls/property then we are talking about a whole new set of rules.
Also, if you own a business with international franchises you might want to "go asking."

|is there a problem here? - paint it whatever colour will help you get over your problem with the mural - paint the Simpson's on it - I don't really care
that KFC is almost certainly locally owned as are most stores outside the US (gasp) - is it really that the mural is on what you consider to be an 'American business' that upsets you?
I don't know how you could have missed my point above - but it is unlikely for any business owner to paint a mural - the people who do not go asking are the UFF/UVF - they tend to do what they want (murder, beatings, drugs, etc.) - you're not suggesting that spotty faced KFC teenagers painted the mural are you?
anyways - as EB says it looks like the mural isn't part of the KFC building - I do not base this on my extensive knowledge of boundaries in NI but rather upon my eyesight and your picture
would you be equally offended by an IRA mural? have you ever been to NI?
|It's not on thier building....||Eager Beagle|

|it's on an advertising hoarding in front of it on the edge of the pavement.|

|...which is why I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. However, it does appear that the wall in question is far enough off of the sidewalk to be on their property line.
Do you have specific knowledge of the wall's ownership or just inferring?
Just wondering as I would like to know.

|wouldn't be nearly as good if it wasn't a KFC, but was a Coffee Republic, or a Greene King pub instead....|

|There are lots of those tribal paintings around there, together with the painted curb-stones etc, and flags. Makes it fairly easy to know where you are....|
|So the red white and blue stones are not welcoming Yanks?||jose_Tex_mex|

Is the chicken any good there? How about the biscuits - do they serves scones? Just wondering how much a menu can change wrt local demands.
|They probably do have...||Eager Beagle|

|special stones for welcoming Yanks, but those are not them -too heavy to lift.
Dunno - I can't stand the stuff anyway - nasty, horrible, greasy, salty fare with dodgy animal content.
I much prefer a decent curry :-)
|What? The Irish hate us too?!||Sintesi|

|Bunch of ingrates. We give them good chicken, promptly served in convenient cardboard buckets and they're lobbing stones. Our president will take care of this crap I assure you.|

|That's what some people call SPDs over here - so technically you have posted cycling stuff on the non-cycling board.
Your PC will now stone you for 30 seconds.
