these are other possibilities. Surely I would not want to confuse others by using an inappropriate "LOL." Should I assume that when used on this board that it means "Laughing out load?" What about "Little Old Lady?" Can't we find some use for that acronym too. It'll feel left out!

You could infer a different meaning from context, but 99% or more of the time I've seen it meaning laugh(ing) out loud. That's safe to assume.
