|I like the taste of both but was wondering if anyone knew of any benefits or rationale for one or the other.|

|Gatorade- Meant to replace lost energy during exercise. Puts glucose into the system to replace what is used. Helps to maintain electrolyte balance, although it's sodium content is low for this. Very good at maintaining blood sugar levels and preventing bonking when taken in at an adequate rate- 8oz per 20 min of exercise. Also, helps with hydration.
Vitamin water- a supplement like any multi-vitamin. Replaces what isn't taken in from the diet if it is lacking from poor food choices. Won't do anything to keep energy levels up during exercise or keep you from bonking. Think of taking a mulit-vitamin and drinking some water, basically. Probably not really needed if the rest of your diet is okay, or you already take a vitamin.
