What's the difference between George W. Bush and Koko, the gorilla who
understands approximately 2,000 words of spoken English?

Nobody thinks Koko is president.
LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!!grace

Apparently it's not an original idea. nmSintesi

Koko signing the color red. Koko is smarter than Dubya.

Face it! Dubya is a low on the evolutionary intelligence chart and what's his name???? John Mitchell??? Ed Meese?? No I remember, God-fearing naked statue breast covering Ashcroft and "homeland security" are a bigger menace to our civil rights than most are aware of.
Loosen your shorts, we may need all the humor we can get in the near future!
You're wearing your shorts too tight!xxll

His shorts are so tight it's affecting his vision. He can't tell the difference between yoda and a monkey.
Oooh Oooh Bush is a chimp! Bush is a chimp! Ooh Oooh.Sintesi

Was the "Bush Jr" handle taken when you came to register? nmmuncher

In a world of Bush bashers...Sintesi

I revel in my role. The funny thing is I didn't vote for him, nor am I particularly a fan of his. Don't hate or dislike him either. You have to admit tho, "Bush is a monkey" is pretty low the wit scale.

BTW, Prince Charles has more simian features than Bush. That is something you must admit. What do they do in Buckingham Palace? Feed him bananas and hose him off at the end of the day?
Jul 19, 2002 7:29 AM
It's not wit, it's just traditional English satirical humour. Jokes about toilets aren't that witty either, but there's a lot of those in the Relm too. You guys bought Benny Hill remember...

PC doesn't actually live in BP - that's his mum's gaff. He lives at Highgrove in Gloucestershire, where it's too cold for bananas - that's why he's into other hardy organic fruit and veg in such a big way.

More like a chimp than Bubbles Bush - can't see it. Bush is the chimpiest celeb by a mile. Charlie might get a "nearer Yoda" vote on account of his extra radar, but no way does he look more chimpy - Bush has that done and dusted, no contest - Charlie doesn't try to sign documents with a pen between his toes...
My God. You've called my president "Bubbles."Sintesi
Jul 19, 2002 8:03 AM
If the free world doesn't collapse first I will have my revenge.

I would characterize the Yoda comparison a definite compliment for Prince Chuck. However, I still maintain he just walked out of the ocean not more than half an hour ago. The "walking-on-two-legs" thing is sooo fake. The whole world knows -- and laughs -- hard.
Aaah - that's more like it.....muncher

I love the casual conceptual interchage of "the whole world" and "the USA" - spoken like a true native....
No, I mean the whole world.Sintesi

Get a shortwave and listen to radio free Cypress and the Bogato morning show. They all freely speculate whether the Royal family are CHUD or merely a new species.
Cypress? Is thatmuncher
Jul 19, 2002 8:26 AM
near Cyprus, or are you tuneing into the trees?

Perhaps, but then they also speculate as to weather Mr Chatobonga's presidential reign is likely to be marred by accusations of corruption, and the answer to that is obvious too.....
I meant Cyprus. Did you mean "tuning" instead of "tuneing?"Sintesi
Jul 19, 2002 9:32 AM
I also meant Bogota not Bogato.

Accusations they are, facts they are not. At least the Bush family hasn't been accused of inbreeding. Where'd Chuck & Co. get those funny ears and lips?
Jul 19, 2002 10:12 AM
You mean YOU haven't accused the Bush family of inbreeding....

Funny lips? I think your fantasy world is taking over again...
Jul 19, 2002 10:54 AM
This is really, really descending fast. In the interests of Anglo-American friendship, hands across the water and all that jazz (and the fact that I don't want my spelling corrected anymore), I will concede my president is a chimp, if you will acknowledge that chimps are amongst the higher orders of primates. I can live with that.

Deal. Also that is educational...muncher
Jul 22, 2002 12:48 AM
Now I know why you guys have all those State Primates around the nation to select the candidates for President - so that you can guarantee that the eventual winner is the highest primate :-)

Anyway - having a go at the Royal family isn't going to upset the British that much - most of them are not that bothered - it's just an insitiution - it's the Greeks and the Germans you want to worry about.....
send me a few hundred pix of anyone and I could do the sameDougSloan

By the way, those are pictures of chimps, not gorillas. :-)

doug...ya gotta admit that dubya is kinda chimplike ;) (nm)ColnagoFE

Koko vs Bushweiwentg
Jul 19, 2002 5:00 AM
Koko's IQ (minus verbal scores) has been tested to be in the high 80s.
now, there is a panel of experts who rate presidents' IQs based on their speeches and writings - Clinton scores well into the genius range. now, this isn't quite fair to Bush, as he has written no books and has problems delivering speeches without gaffes. but his estimated IQ is in the 90s... which means he damn near got beaten by a gorilla :)
I would hardly categorize this "info" as credible...nmBikeViking

tell my psych prof...weiwentg
Jul 21, 2002 3:59 AM
you are right, though. the IQ evaluation is not fair to Bush, as he has no written works.
that's sillyDougSloan
Jul 19, 2002 6:25 AM
No way a gorilla scores in the 80's. I'll need some proof of that.

Don't forget that presidents have a legion of speech writers. Good ones could make anyone appear to be a genius.

Genius, or not, I'll take a good person over a smart, bad one, any time. Hitler might have been intelligent, for all we know.

Personal attacks like these are senseless. Equating a man, any man, to a gorilla is just plain pathetic. It's juvenile, vacuous, and does nothing more than reveal who truly is the better man -- I dare say Bush would never stoop to say the same about anyone, even you.

that's sillycritmass

Just maybe, parts of this thread were done to see who the non-thinking knee-jerk apologists were on this board. Seems at least one was found!
it's still sillyDougSloan
Jul 19, 2002 10:20 AM
Nothing to do with apologists. I'd say the same no matter who was the target of the idiocy. Besides, haven't we pretty much flushed out who is who here?

not intended as an attack on Bushweiwentg
Jul 21, 2002 4:05 AM
Doug, if it was intended as an attack, you'd know it (for instance, BV AND Sintesi would both jump on me). it was not intended as an attack. it was a half-serious jibe. Bush isn't the smartest president ever, but while Koko may very well be the smartest gorilla ever, there can be no doubt that simian intelligence is inferior to human intelligence. so, if I offended you, or anyone else, my apologies.
Where's the British Bulldog humping his leg?TJP
Jul 18, 2002 5:25 PM
Sorry, I just had to...
If this cartoon were accurate there would be a British Bulldog humping Bush's leg or waiting for the scraps from AF1. The least Bush could have done was give the British a pat on the head and say - jolly good show, keep up the good work then!

As for making fun of his accent - oh the Irony! Remember Snatch? - The Brits invent the friggen language and we cannot understand them.
