|I heard that, on average, children laugh 117 times a day and adults only 11.
I know I laugh a lot more than 11--particularly when I read some of the stuff that is on this board.
Assuming this arcane statistic is even close to true, what happens between childhood and adulthood that would account for an order of magnitude decrease in the number of times we laugh?

|I know I laugh many more times per day than that too...especially when I'm at college (not working in the summer) doing stuff with my friends.
Who knows about what makes our laughs decrease so much. It probably has something to do with the fact that there is so much more to worry about and deal with, because adults are responsible for so much more. Jobs generally are not as much fun as goofing around all day, or even going to school. It was nice being a kid, but I'm not sure I'd want to go back. I'd really miss driving :)
