|With all the warnings, maybe I should dig a hole and crawl in.
I won't let our government scare me. I know, its' not their fault, just a warning. I'll be at a parade, I'll go to the pool, I'll go watch fireworks. Hell with the terrorist threat.
Anyone taking these things seriously enough to change plans???
P.S. On Saturday, I will be riding 70 miles to a friends farm way out in the boondocks for a 4th party - on the 6th. No terrorists in podunk Kentucky. If some middle-eastern guy shows up in the hollers of KY, the locals will shoot first, bury the body and ask questions later.

|We're going to the 4th of July celebration at CBS Studios in Studio City: music, food, beer, kids' rides, and fireworks. Apparently one of the mucky-mucks at CBS is a big pyrotechnics afficianado, so the studio puts on a fireworks show that last about 50 minutes.|

|Thursday nights at the Northbrook Velodrome. The fireworks from the neighboring towhn should be visible during the races. I think that will be quite a thrill.

Give me good friends, good food, good music, good rhythm, good cycling.
Food, music, festivities, riding: enjoy the art of living and screw the god damn terrorists brother!

|"....you go girl!"
I always hated that saying, but, in this case its' appropriate.
My question came up becuase I've had two clients tell me today that they are going to avoid crowds this 4th. I told them that they are giving into fear and letting the terrorists win.
Hell, I'm buying a t-shirt with a bullseye on it...I dare them to get me!

|if the city is still standing upon my return then I will watch the fireworks over the river from my roof. I figure my chances of being incinerated should be cut by a third. I really haven't come up with plan to deal with the fallout tho. ; )|

|... maybe I'll get in a short-to-medium ride, then take in the fireworks in the evening.
We could take the train into DC, but I'd rather not. I'm not worried about terrorists, but I've skipped the dubious treat of going into DC on the fourth for about a decade now, too many people. With the extra security this year, it'll be even less enjoyable.

|My wife and I plan to spend four days riding and camping on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Towpath. We will be enjoying a small part of the beautiful country that most of us on the board live in.
For me it is a chance to live a little "simpler" for a few days....and to get in a few full days of riding!
Best wishes to all however you plan to spend Independence Day!

|After averaging about 30 miles per week the last month or so, I'm looking forward to squeezing in 100 miles before noon. I can't wait.
