|This one vaguely fits into the non-cycling discussion because I'll be doing non-cycling today since I forgot my shoes in my girlfriend's car before she went out of town today. Crap! So much for that group ride this evening.
I just had to vent. Nothing to see here, feel free to move along.

|During bike week, my husband planned on riding in one day with some buddies. The day before, he took a bag to work with stuff he would need once he got there - instead of having to ride with a back-pack.
About 8:15 I got a call...he forgot his pants!
Since we live about 40 miles away, and no stores open until 10am, he had to suffer in his bike shorts til then. Poor guy - the secretaries spread the word, and he had never had so many women "stop by" his cubie! LOL
|so it wasn't "take your pants to work" day? ;-) nm||DougSloan|

|I forget my underwear once. Had to work all day with my bike shorts under the slacks.

|I swung by the not-so-local-bike-shop (I'm out of town today) and considered for a moment going really retro, but then the only shoes I have are some loafers. I also tried on a new pair of bike shoes just for the heck of it, but they didn't have the platform adapters in stock.
You know, this is probably for the best. No, really. For some reason today I have some pain in one knee and my better judgement would be to take it easy and this group ride would be a suffer fest. The riding will have to wait for tomorrow, but this is the second time in the last 30 days that me and my shoes have been in different places. I've resolved to purchase a backup pair to keep in my car. ;)

|We all met at one of the LBSs in town, there were 7 or 8 of us that had all come in seperate cars. We were able to fit everone and all the bikes in/on two vehicles. We made the two hour drive to where we planned on riding and started unloading. While we were going through our individual pre-ride ceromonies, one of the guys starts yelling. I thought he was bitten by a snake or stung by a bee or broke his leg or something. He finally managed to spit out he had left his front wheel in his car back at the LBS. Ruined his day for sure. Was he ever pissed!
A couple of the guys, him included, were riding a race there the next day and the entire reason for us going was to let them get some time on the course. Someone let him have a wheel after they had completed one lap so he was able to ride afterall.

|As it turns out, angels may have been watching over me. The ride would have started at 6pm and a torrential rain came at 6:30 followed by a tornado warning in the area. I'm not sure if the tornado touched down, but my ride route was going through the area where it was seen.
