I need a poet, a scientist, an African...MikeC

Ok, here's the story. I have a follow-up interview on Friday for the presidency of a major zoo. In order for zoos to perform their conservation missions, we need to do a better job connecting people with the animals. They shouldn't just be "exhibits," but powerful, vital life-forces that function as ambassadors for their species and ecosystems.
One of the things I'd like to explore is an attempt to get "inside the heads" of the animals. For example, if you are an African Lion, what is going through your consciousness as you lie there in the grass?
I'd like a scientist, a poet, an artist, a child, and an African to write a paragraph imagining what is going through that lion's conscious awareness. I envision having graphic and perhaps audio interpretations for each animal at each exhibit, and I'd like to see what you guys could come up with.
I need them no later than noon on Thursday, earlier if you can. Please post your paragraphs here, or e-mail them to me at crowthermichael@hotmail.com if you're shy.
Thanks!
OK, I'll give it a shotAllisonHayes

I don't know if this what you are looking for, but great concept, nonetheless. Good luck! And let us know how it turns out

The Lioness

Afternoon sun
Moist heat, lazy pride
Satiated.

Time to renew bonds
A sense of belonging
To my pride.

Well groomed family my pride
My pride is my group
And my awareness.

We belong together we are
Members of our pride alone
And together our pride hunts.

A family that preys together
Stays together.

I think he wanted it from the lion's perspective rather than your perspective Mr Muncher - and anyways I know you drink alot more than that...
You couldn't be more wrong...muncher

From the MALE lion perspective (remember, the females do all the hunting)...

(Yawn)
Hmm, what? Is that a zebra?
Lioness #2, go check it out!
(Yawn)
Not a zebra? A Gnu? Damn Gnus. What's Gnu? Heh heh. I gotta get my eyes checked.
Hey! No snickering, ladies.
(Roar)
(Yawn)
You, lioness #3, come scratch my tummy.
(Purr)
Alright, that's enough.
(Yawn)
Huh? Wha? I hear Hyenas.
(Yawn)
(Sniff)
Ah, now there's a new scent. Lionesses #1 and #2, check it out.
(Yawn)
Oh, hey, good job lionesses! What do you have there? It kind of looks like a zebra. And it was as fast as a zebra? Faster? Huh.
I wonder what "Acqua & Sapone" means. Very strange.
Alright folks, let's eat.
great job LMlAOAllisonHayes
