speaking of music, how to get mp3's now?(8 posts)

speaking of music, how to get mp3's now?DougSloan

I'm always the last one to figure something out. I got in on the mp3 thing about a week before Napster shut down. Everything else now just seems too complicated and unreliable.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a way to obtain mp3's now -- that's legal, of course ;-) ?

Thanks.

Doug

You can go to www.musiccity.com and download Kazaa, which is pretty much the same thing as Morpheus, which was previously offered at musiccity.com. Other options I use are audiogalaxy.com, or this program called MiRC which I am still trying to figure out how to use... but apparently it works great! =P. Audiogalaxy is probably the best choice out of the three, but you need to download a VERY small file, and they're very strict about what your password can be.
thanks, I'll try that nmDougSloan

...is there best file sharing there is. movies, music, progs...you name it, it's on there. i would attempt to explain how to use it, but it's hard to over the net. once you get it, it's a breeze.
I second Kazaa. It's a great program (nm)Dave Hickey

not as loaded as it was a few months ago but still plenty of choices. particularly older things.

go to http://www.audiogalaxy.com and select "download satellite." it is a much more robust product than Napster could ever hope to be.

I read an article in Playboy that said Audiogalaxy is notoroius about adding Spy Ware to their downloads so the article recommended downloading Ad Aware from Cnet. I knew that my boss had Audio Galaxy installed on his pc, downloaded Ad Aware, ran it and found 65 "suspicous items." After cleaning up those items, his free system resources went from 74% to 90%. See, sometimes it's good to read the articles in Playboy. ;)

why would you want to read the non-sexual articles?
