Imagine you're a single guy at a USCF or Centry ride/race... If a woman wanted to get your attention, what would be the best pick up line or statement for her to use?

Guy approaching girl needs pickup line.

Girl approaching guy need only say "Hello."

Fundamental truths.

ask him to help you with some sort of mundane bicycle maintenance issue. Guys seem to be suckers and leap at the chance to show their bicycle maintenance prowess, especially to a pretty gal... unless, of course... they know that you can kick their ass on the bike or could build a wheel faster than he can change a tube... then their attitude changes and you should just mention beer.

Most of them are such dorks that they probably won't get it unless you are pretty obvious. Talk about egocentric...

Nonetheless, I can think of a few easy ones:

*Mind if I ride with you for a while? (century thing, not race)

*Nice bike.

*Do you like Campy or Shimano better?

*Nice legs.

*Are you a pro?

*Would you mind helping me with my training?

*I'm not feeling well today, would you mind pulling me in?

*Want to do some rides together?

*I only date cyclists; are you seeing anyone? (getting really obvious)

*What do you look like in normal clothes?

*Nice butt.

*Who is going to win the Tour this year? Any competition for Lance?

I could go on and make a real fool of myself here, but I think you get the picture. Talk about the guy or his bike, and you're in. That's all he will want to talk about, anyway.

If that's not obvious enough for a guy, KEEP LOOKING till you find one with a brain!!! :)

These sounds like normal questions to me. If some girl said it, I wouldn't notice. The comment on the nice butt thing, guys may think you are just flirting with them. Let's face it, guys don't usually get picked up by girls. You have to be VERY obvious.

The striaght forward thing worked for this girl who asked my friend out.

Hey by the way, when girls slap my ass, does that mean they like me or that they are just flirting with me?

"Hey by the way, when girls slap my ass, does that mean they like me or that they are just flirting with me?"

Probably means they are sticking a "kick me" sign on your butt.

i know i probably shouldn't go there - but in the same vein as the thread the other day, they could ask him about his stem...

seriously, i would never use a pick up line - most of them are just waaaay too cheesy. but then i've heard ones like

Didn't I see you on the cover of Bicycle Supersport?

Was your father a mechanic? Then how did you get such a finely tuned body?

Well, here I am. What were your other two wishes?

If anyone used any of those on me, i think i'd just gag! I'd agree with the above. Just say gidday.

I was watching MTV, they were giving out statistics for stuff. I think it said that "60% of the guys like to be asked out." I certainly agree, asking girls is a lot of work. Plus, nice guys don't usually reject girls, unless they totally dislike the girl.

The response to this line is that your grammar may be corrected. But then we're all looking for a girl just like mom, right?
